Nini Gollong for Vestoj at Palais de Tokyo

 

At our big launch on June 27 installation artist Nini Gollong created a beautiful teepee, standing at almost four metres tall and towering over our shameful performers and beer-swilling guests. An oasis of calm in the otherwise chaotic event, it provided a moment of tranquility and reflection. One by one the guests could enter, stand on mirrors covered in lace and look at the sculpture made from cut up Vestojs and glass suspended above a plinth in 24 carat gold with a little heap of burnt journals on it. Then out again, into the myriad of people and DJ Pit Spector’s specially made soundtrack of whispering voices telling us their most shameful secrets…
