Nini Gollong for Vestoj at Palais de Tokyo

At our big launch on June 27 installation artist Nini Gollong created a beautiful teepee, standing at almost four metres tall and towering over our shameful performers and beer-swilling guests. An oasis of calm in the otherwise chaotic event, it provided a moment of tranquility and reflection. One by one the guests could enter, stand on mirrors covered in lace and look at the sculpture made from cut up Vestojs and glass suspended above a plinth in 24 carat gold with a little heap of burnt journals on it. Then out again, into the myriad of people and DJ Pit Spector’s specially made soundtrack of whispering voices telling us their most shameful secrets…

Vestoj 3 has now officially launched!

Last week we celebrated with a big party at Palais de Tokyo in Paris. Twenty ‘undercover’ actors directed by Clemence Poésy and Ava Hervier each acted out an archetypal scenario associated with fashion and shame. We had a girl with a period stain on her white trousers, another with the price tag still left on hers, a guy with his fly open, one with his trousers so low his butt crack was on show, a girl with heels so high she kept falling over and an immaculately turned out gentleman reeking of sweat… And many many more – the whole evening turned into a bit of a guessing game. Who was acting and who was just plain weird…
